# Account and data security on Revision Time

> How Revision Time keeps your account safe: password encryption, SSL/TLS data transfer, email verification, and steps to take if your account is compromised.

Keeping your account and data secure is a priority for Revision Time. This page explains the measures in place to protect you and what to do if something goes wrong.

## How Revision Time protects your data

    Your password is encrypted before it is stored on Revision Time's servers. Revision Time staff cannot read or retrieve your password under any circumstances. If you forget your password, you will need to reset it — it cannot be looked up on your behalf.

      Never share your password with anyone, including anyone claiming to be from Revision Time. Staff will never ask for your password.

    All data transmitted between your browser and Revision Time's servers uses SSL/TLS encryption. Payment data is handled by Stripe over the same encrypted connections — your card details are never sent to or stored on Revision Time's own servers.

    You must verify your email address before your account becomes active. This step reduces fake accounts and helps ensure that password-reset emails reach the right person.

    All account data is hosted on AWS servers based in London, UK. AWS maintains industry-standard physical and network security for its data centres.

## If your account is compromised

If you suspect someone has accessed your account without your permission, act immediately:

    Log in and go to **Settings**, then change your password to something strong and unique. If you cannot log in, use the **Forgot password** link on the sign-in page to reset it via email.

    Review your account for any content or changes you do not recognise. If you find anything suspicious, note it down. Pay particular attention to your settings menu.
