Credits are the currency that powers AI auto-marking on Revision Time. Each time you submit an answer for marking, one credit is deducted from your daily allowance. Your credit balance resets every day, giving you a fresh allocation to use across your revision sessions.Documentation Index

How credits work
- Each auto-marking submission costs 1 credit.
- Credits reset daily — your balance refreshes every day regardless of how many you used the day before.
- Credits cannot be carried over to the next day; unused credits expire at reset.
Credits by plan
| Plan | Price | Daily credits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | — | Limited daily credits |
| Pro | £3.99/month | 50 credits per day |
| Ultimate | £5.99/month | Unlimited credits* |
Hold up… that’s not the only use for credits
Credits are also used in our ChatRT tool, which provides tailored AI help for questions. The amount of credits used for each prompt is determined by the capabilities of the AI model. First, let’s explore some AI terminology. Tokens are the way by which AI models measure usage. Usually, one token is roughly equivalent to one spoken syllable, however, they can represent whole words or punctuation marks. They measure both input tokens and output tokens, tokens in your prompt and any additional context we give it are considered input tokens. Tokens in its response are considered output tokens. We calculate costs by compiling both input and output tokens to create what we call weighted tokens. They are calculated using this simple formula, where WT = weighted tokens, IT = input tokens and OT= output tokens: We measure credits usage by way of measuring tokens. Additionally there are three different models which have three different costs attached to them:| Model | ChatRT Lite | ChatRT (Default) | Super ChatRT (Pro/Ultimate Only) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Background Worker | OpenAI’s gpt-5.4-nano | OpenAI’s gpt-5.4-mini | OpenAI’s gpt-5.5 |
| Weighted Tokens per 1 Credit | 6000 | 2000 | 250 |
| Credits per short conversation* | 5 | 8-10 | 50-70 |
What happens when you run out
When your daily credits are exhausted, auto-marking is paused until your balance resets the following day. You can still access Revision Time and attempt questions — you just won’t be able to submit answers for AI grading until credits are restored. To continue marking without waiting for a reset, you can upgrade to a plan with a higher daily allowance or unlimited credits.View plans and upgrade
